Mayans Vs. Aztecs

Besides both of these civilizations originating in Mexico, they shared many similarities. Had either of them ceased to exist our world would have changed drastically like today our knowledge of architecture is highly inspired by the creations of the Aztecs and Mayans. Their creations were made with durable materials and a great support structure, hence why a lot of their structures are still standing today. Also if it weren’t for the Mayans, the calendar would not have a practical use in today’s society. While other civilizations in the past had used things similar to calendars, the idea of breaking time into days, weeks, months, and years was carried on from the Mayans. Give or take, a month back then compared to a month now would not be the same time, but it was close enough and better than any other civilization had used.

The Mayans were the the first known civilization to create and use a calendar. It was believed that on December 21st, 2012 the stars would align and it would be the end of the world. The reasoning behind this belief was because after said date, they were unable to count any further. It wasn’t until later that we debunked this.

The Aztecs arrived much later and grew to become the most efficient and functional civilization of its era. From the ashes of fallen heroes, powerful figures emerged.

In conclusion, both civilizations played a big part in Mexican history. Both were responsible for coming up with their own unique ways of life and they carried on to this day. Neither civilization was better, they both are a vital piece of history and they have left a big mark on our planet.
